JIMMY Kimmel is planning to return to TV to host another show after taking a hiatus from late-night.
The comic is currently on his annual summer break from hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live, leaving a revolving door of celebrity guest hosts to fill in.
However, he won’t spend the coming weeks completely off-camera, as he already has another gig lined up.
Jimmy is returning to his hosting duties for another season of the game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, premiering on July 22.
The ABC show’s official Instagram page announced its Season 5 return on Monday.
Jimmy revived the beloved primetime game show in April 2020, taking over as host and executive producer for a 20th-anniversary celebration.

The late Regis Philbin hosted the original show, which first debuted in August 1999, featuring everyday fans as the contestants.
ABC ended its run in June 2002, though it moved to daily daytime syndication shortly after, lasting until May 2019.
The show’s hosts during its 17-season run included Meredith Vieira, Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews, and Chris Harrison.
Upon its revival, Jimmy hosted in 2020 and 2021 before taking a brief hiatus.
He returned for the next three consecutive summer runs in 2024, 2025, and this upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel Live fans will see a slew of A-list stars occupy his late-night desk while he’s away.
The host has already confirmed that Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, and Jelly Roll will take over in his absence.
It was also revealed that controversial comedian Rosie O’Donnell is among the list of stacked celebrity guest hosts.
Jimmy began taking the summers off from the show in 2020 during the pandemic.
He continued the tradition thereafter to spend more time with his family.
This is the first extended break Jimmy has voluntarily taken since ABC abruptly pulled his show from the air in September.
The late-night program was temporarily taken off the air after Jimmy made some ill-received comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s death during his opening monologue.
President Donald Trump has also repeatedly vowed to cancel the show due to Jimmy’s regular criticism of his politics.
