A\u00a0dad<\/a>\u00a0travelling home with his two young daughters has found himself at the centre of a\u00a0viral<\/a>\u00a0online\u00a0debate<\/a>\u00a0after taking the girls into an empty women\u2019s bathroom at a gas station \u2014 only for another customer to call the police.<\/p>\n

Tyler Brodsky was driving back to Oklahoma from Florida when he stopped at a QuikTrip in Alabama so his daughters could use the bathroom.<\/p>\n

What happened next has since exploded across\u00a0social media<\/a>, with Brodsky\u2019s video racking up more than 15 million views and sparking fierce debate over what\u00a0parents<\/a>\u00a0should do in situations like this.<\/p>\n

According to Brodsky, he made a split-second decision to take his daughters into the women\u2019s bathroom because it was empty \u2014 believing it was the safest option.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d rather do that than bring two little girls into a men\u2019s bathroom full of grown men and dirty stalls,\u201d he wrote alongside the viral clip.<\/p>\n

This guy comes barging in yelling, scares my daughters, and somehow thinks THEY should\u2019ve been in the men\u2019s room instead. The footage shows Brodsky helping his daughters wash their hands inside the restroom while a furious customer stood at the doorway and began shouting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a man with his two little girls in the women\u2019s bathroom,\u201d the man could be heard yelling.<\/p>\n

The customer claimed his wife and her \u201cvery ill\u201d mother were waiting outside to use the bathroom and accused Brodsky of \u201ctaking his whole sweet time\u201d.<\/p>\n

But the confrontation quickly escalated, with the commotion leaving one of Brodsky\u2019s daughters visibly upset and crying. Rather than engaging, Brodsky stayed focused on calming his girls and called the man \u201cimmature.\u201d<\/p>\n

A store manager then stepped in, shutting the restroom door on the angry customer and apologising to Brodsky and his daughters.<\/p>\n

However, the situation didn\u2019t end there.<\/p>\n

The man went on to call\u00a0police<\/a>, insisting Brodsky had \u201cno business\u201d being inside the women\u2019s bathroom and arguing that a female employee should have taken the children in instead.<\/p>\n

But when officers arrived, Brodsky said they made it clear he had done nothing wrong.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe officers let me know I was OK, I didn\u2019t do anything wrong,\u201d he explained in a follow-up video.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cTaking two little girls into the men\u2019s restroom could be viewed as negatively as me going to the women\u2019s restroom with my girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Brodsky, police eventually asked the other man to leave the store.<\/p>\n

What stood out most to him, however, was how officers handled the aftermath with his children.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe officers came, talked to my girls, made sure they felt safe. They put a good image of police officers for my girls growing up. The QuikTrip employees gave my girls free ices, which is very kind of them.<\/p>\n

Brodsky later confirmed his daughters are now \u201csafe, happy, and doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the video triggered heated reactions, the overwhelming majority of social media users sided with the father, arguing he made the best call in an awkward no-win situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was being a good dad. There was no one in there when he came in. The other guy is just being a jerk,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n

Another questioned the angry man\u2019s own actions, asking: \u201cExcuse me, sir, why are you on the phone, standing at the entrance watching two little girls in the bathroom?\u201d<\/p>\n

Many fathers also shared similar stories, saying the lack of family bathrooms often leaves parents with impossible decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis video brought to my attention something bigger than this incident,\u201d Brodsky said. \u201cI\u2019ve received thousands of messages from moms, grandparents, caregivers who have been in similar situations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t about one argument in a gas station. It\u2019s about the fact that parents are often put in situations that aren\u2019t comfortable. We\u2019re simply trying to take care of our children and keep them safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also made clear he doesn\u2019t want the man involved to face harassment over the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be clear about something: I don\u2019t support anyone harassing anyone involved,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m simply sharing what happened to my family and I hope the man that did this will come across this video and realize what he did was wrong and not do it to anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Brodsky, the whole ordeal has become less about one angry stranger and more about a wider issue many parents know all too well.<\/p>\n
