Olivia Rodrigo Announces All-Women Music Festival Supporting Women’s Organizations
Olivia Rodrigo has announced Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women music festival featuring a lineup that includes Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Garbage, and several other artists.
According to Rodrigo, every performer has agreed to appear without compensation, allowing 100% of the festival’s net proceeds to be donated to nonprofit organizations that support women and girls. Beneficiaries include organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Rodrigo said the festival was inspired by Lilith Fair, the groundbreaking all-women concert tour created by Sarah McLachlan in the 1990s. She described the participating artists’ willingness to perform for free as “a real testament to their hearts as well as their talent.”
The announcement also comes after Rodrigo publicly criticized the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for using one of her songs in a government-produced video promoting immigration enforcement. She objected to the use of her music, stating that she did not want it associated with messaging she opposed.
The festival has generated widespread attention online, with supporters praising its focus on women in music and its fundraising efforts for nonprofit organizations. Others have debated the event’s political associations and the organizations it supports, reflecting the broader national divisions surrounding issues such as reproductive rights and immigration.
